Vakuum
A haunting exploration of identity, mental fragmentation, and the blurred lines between reality and illusion.
Vakuum follows Evelyn, a young woman trapped in a surreal space where her fragile mental state unravels behind closed doors. As she barricades herself from the outside world, her fractured psyche reveals a hidden truth - a mysterious man named Adam, whose existence challenges the very fabric of Evelyn’s reality.
Inspired by the complexities of dissociative identity, this short film delves into the painful contradictions of self-perception, desire, and denial.
Director’s Note
“Vakuum is a deeply personal project born from my fascination with the unseen struggles many face with their identities and mental health. The story is less about external events and more about the internal chaos that someone with a fractured sense of self might experience - the tension between who we appear to be and who we truly are inside. I wanted to create a visual and emotional space where the audience could feel that disorientation, that silent fight within, and the loneliness of a mind at war with itself.”

Inspiration & Goals
With Vakuum, I sought to confront the often taboo subjects of dual personality disorder. The film is a metaphorical journey into a fractured mind, portraying how love, repression, and societal expectations collide violently within a person. My goal was to craft a visually stark, emotionally raw narrative that challenges viewers to empathize with those living behind closed doors - trapped in their own mental vacuum.
